Handmade Ceramics Product Photography with Libby Ballard Ceramics

Capturing the unique beauty of handmade ceramics requires more than just a camera – it’s about showcasing the craftsmanship, the textures, and the personality of each piece. I had the pleasure of working with Libby Ballard Ceramics to photograph her stunning collection, which features coastal-inspired glazes.

A Seamless Remote Collaboration

This shoot was a remote collaboration, where Libby would send me her ceramics, and I would take care of the styling and photography. The beauty of remote work is the flexibility it provides – Libby gave real-time feedback as I worked, ensuring the shoot aligned with her vision.

Balancing Lifestyle and Product Photography

For this project, we aimed for a balance between lifestyle and product photography. The lifestyle shots brought the ceramics to life by highlighting the human connection without overshadowing the product. On the flip side, the clean product shots are perfect use in magazines and online publications.

Delivering Ready-to-Use Images

Once the shoot was complete, I edited the photos and delivered both high-resolution files and web-optimised versions. This streamlined process meant Libby had polished images ready to use across her platforms without delay.

This handmade ceramics product photography shoot perfectly captured the essence of Libby’s work. The photos showcased the beauty of her ceramics and the coastal inspirations behind them, giving her products the attention they deserve.
