Behind the Scenes Photography for Brighton designers and makers Weez & Merl

I captured Weez & Merl at their Hove studio while they prepared for a big press day, creating the bar tops for a new London restaurant, Dockley Road.

Sustainable Designers

Weez & Merl are a Brighton-based sustainable design studio run by sisters Weez and Merl. They craft long-lasting, beautifully designed objects from recycled plastic, transforming waste into something both functional and striking. Their commissions span bars, restaurants, and retail spaces, creating everything from bar tops and tables to plinths, art pieces, and homewares like their bud vases and popular coasters.

Capturing the energy

Capturing the photography for Brighton designers and makers, Weez & Merl, I captured the behind-the-scenes buzz as they prepped for the press – melting, marbling, and layering plastic before the final transformation. The energy in the studio was brilliant, full of focus and creative flow. My camera followed their process, documenting the craft and teamwork that go into every piece.

I’m hoping to visit Dockley Road soon to see their work in place, I’ll share more here when I do.

You can see more examples and some behind the scenes footage in this post
